Speak Life and Truth

We were in the middle of the four pointers God spoke to my spirit about what to do when you are feeling overwhelmed.  Number three is “Speak Life and Truth.”  I capitalize “Life” and “Truth” because there is a difference between worldly truth and the results it brings and Godly Truth and the God-Life it brings.  You see, in reality, natural, worldly facts that we see with our eyes or feel with our senses may appear to be “truth,” but if they don’t line up with God’s Word, they are not truth.  They are just temporary circumstances waiting to change.  Only God’s Word holds the market on Truth!

That should be good news to all of us, because it means we have the tools or the weapons we need to change earthly circumstances which we don’t like into God’s outcome!  So, what do we do when we feel like rather than floating peacefully down life’s God-ordained river, we are dodging bullets every way we turn?  Dear ones, you have every defensive, and more importantly, ever offensive weapon you need to totally deactivate every bullet aimed at your destruction.

Last time we were together, we talked about how God’s Word is alive and active, full of His Spirit power.  Well, God didn’t give us His Life and Breath, His Spirit Power to keep it bottled up in our heads.  He gave His Word power to be used, and the only way to use His Word is to speak it out.  Speaking His Word not only increases our faith, because faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (Rom. 10:17), but speaking His Word actually unleashes God’s Life and perfection into our situation.  Remember, Psalm 138:8 (KJV) says that God will perfect everything concerning us.

First, when we actually hear the Word, our spirits respond in kind to come in agreement with God’s Truth.  Our spirits know and hear the Voice and Truth of God (John 10:27).  Romans says that God’s Spirit testifies with our spirit that we are His children (Rom. 8:16).  God loves to commune with us, just like all parents love to commune or have relationship with their children.  We can commune with God by sharing the Truth of His Word together with Him.  I also firmly believe that when our spirits hear our very own voice speak His Truth, it is even more effective than when we hear someone else speak His Word.  I can’t prove that, but I believe that our own voice is intimately connected with our own spirit.  It has to be.  God gave us our own voice, unlike anyone else’s, and our spirit knows that voice and is affected by it . . . just like the Scripture says that God’s children know His voice.  Every word you speak for good or for bad feeds directly into your spirit; every word I speak feeds directly into my spirit.  So the Words we speak matter, and they need to be Words of Life.  Think of it this way.  If your spirit constantly hears you saying things like, “I’m so depressed,” or “I’m so broke, I’m going to be in the poor house,” or “I’m so sick and tired,” how does that make you feel inside?  It makes you feel depressed, poor, sick, and tired – defeated.  On the other hand, if your spirit hears you say things like, “I’m so happy,” or “I’m supplied with all I need or want,” or “I’m the picture of health,” how does your spirit feel?  It feels like an overcomer, the overcomer God made you to be!   Scripture tells us we are filled and satisfied by the fruit of our lips (Prov. 18:20).  The words we speak are the fruit of our lips.  What do you want to fill up on?  I want to be filled with God’s Life.  So, speak wisely in line with the Word!

Secondly, as mentioned in our last blog, God’s Word is alive.  It is His Breath and Life to us.  Scripture says we have the choice to speak life or death (Prov. 18:21), so speak Life!  We can speak the problem, which is death, or we can speak the solution, which is the Word and Life, and when we speak Life, all of the resources of God are released on our behalf.  God has provided angels which go forth and minister for us, the saints of God (Heb. 1:14).  When the ministering angels hear the Word, they respond.  They can’t hear the Word and obey its command unless you speak out the commanding Truth of the Word, but when we speak the Word, our ministering angels follow its direction and go forth to bring into our lives the perfect plan of God.  The alive, active, spoken Word of God breaths the remedy we need into our situation.  It brings to bear all of the power of God into our circumstance.  Remember, God created the entire universe and you and me with only His spoken Word!  It overcomes the enemy; it brings supernatural life to us; it brings revelation knowledge and wisdom; it brings Holy Spirit answers; it causes those bullets we are dodging to miss their intended target; it becomes our shield against every fiery dart of the enemy!  The Word brings overcoming power to us!  Praise be to God, Who is our victory, Whose Word secures and seals our triumph!  God never loses, and when we come armed for battle with the spoken Word, no enemy or trouble can stand in His presence!

Speak Life and Truth into your situation, and see His plan come to pass!

Pastor Lisa Marie

If you have never made Jesus the Lord of your life and desire to, pray this:  Dear God, I believe that Jesus is your Son, that He died on the cross for me and was resurrected for my redemption.  I choose to make Jesus the Lord of my life.  I thank you for forgiving me and for filling me with Your Holy Spirit.  I thank You that I am Your child, that You are my Father, and that You have great things planned for me.  Amen.
