Inexhaustible Love

Dear Ones,

This week when I was talking to the Lord about what to write, He said, “It’s all about My love.”  I thought, “Yes it is Lord.  Thank You for Your love.  Where would we be without it?  Nowhere.”  Then I thought, “Oh, Lord!  That’s a pretty big topic, and I could never express all the greatness, all the depth or width or height, all the power, all the facets of Your wonderful love.  Plus, I already wrote about that.  People probably want to hear something new.”  You know what He answered me?

He said, “You will never exhaust My love, and My love is always new!”  Wow!  So simple.  So true.  So powerful.  So reassuring.  So important.  We could talk about His love for us forever and never fully comprehend it or fully express it while we’re here on this earth.  But when we get to Heaven, we will KNOW His love.  He designed us to spend eternity in the presence of His love.

Do you know what else He told me as I started contemplating His love this week?  He said, “I am the God of second. . .and third. . .and fourth. . .and millionth chances.  You will never exhaust My patience or forgiveness.”  We will never find an end to God’s patience and love.  He never tires of forgiving us and pouring His love upon us.  No matter what we have done or have failed to do, He always has a new beginning for each one of us, a beginning that will bring us into His glorious purpose for our lives.  We condemn ourselves for our mistakes and others for theirs, but when we run to God and seek His forgiveness, He never condemns us.  He greets us with arms of mercy and His heart full of love.  His love for us is greater than any mistake we can ever make.  It’s the devil who wants you to live in the pain and regret and doubt of your past mistakes.  Be aware of who is talking to you.  The Lord gives us wisdom and leads us in ways of peace (Proverbs 3:17), and if He admonishes us, it is with love, not with self-hatred or guilt or shame or condemnation or fear.  God’s mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23).  His love and goodness and kindness draw us to repentance (Romans 2:4), and He is quick to forgive, abounding in love (Psalm 86:5, 15; Psalm 103:8).  God loves us with an everlasting love and draws us with loving kindness (Jeremiah 31:3).  God knows if our hearts condemn us not (like the devil wants them to), then we will walk in the peace, joy, freedom, blessing, and confidence that a life in God’s love will bring (1 John 3:21-22), and that is a glorious place to be!

So, dear one, if you don’t know the Lord, or if you don’t want to know Him because you think His judgements are too harsh, or if you think you have done too many wrong things to deserve the unbridled, never-ending, ever-present, ever-new, ever-redeeming love of God, realize that is what the devil wants you to think.  God is not a harsh judge, but a loving Father.  If you were the only person on earth, Jesus would have died for you and you alone to prove His great love for you.  Read the story of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32), and know that God is waiting for you with a yearning heart, a Spirit bursting with love for you!  You can never try His patience too much or do too many wrong things to make Him too mad to forgive you or to exhaust His love for you.  You will always be received and loved!

Well folks, this may seem short this week, but I believe that’s what God wants you to know.  You are loved with a love not made of human feelings, but with an eternal, inexhaustible, unquenchable, holy love.

You are loved,

Pastor Lisa Marie

If you have never made Jesus the Lord of your life and desire to, pray this:  Dear God, I believe that Jesus is your Son, that He died on the cross for me and was resurrected for my redemption.  I choose to make Jesus the Lord of my life.  I thank you for forgiving me and for filling me with Your Holy Spirit.  I thank You that I am Your child, that You are my Father, and that You have great things planned for me.  Amen.
