New Again

Dear Ones,
We all need a fresh start every once in a while. Just think about what you feel like when you’re coming to the end of several long winter months, and you walk outside and feel a change in the air. You feel a warmth from the sun that you haven’t sensed in a while; you see the first yellow-green hints in the grass and foliage of the trees; you smell that familiar, fresh scent that brings energy to your spirit. Spring is on the way! I guess God gives us the seasons for lots of reasons, and one of them must be to remind us that everything is new again! Well, we go through seasons in our lives, too, and guess what? There’s always a new beginning awaiting us in some area. It’s important to experience refreshing in our lives. It gives us energy, a new outlook, an excitement, encouragement! God made our spirits to constantly be renewed and filled with new life! (See Colossians 3:10; Ephesians 4:22-24; 2 Corinthians 4:16.) Our spirits are boundless, like God’s, after all, He created us in His image (Genesis 1:26-27). That’s where our potential lies! That’s where opportunity awaits us! When we renew our spirits to the Word of God and His boundless, creative potential for us, our lives will continue to be renewed, uplifted, and energized!
Of course, the key is, we need to renew ourselves with the things of God. There are a million new fad diets, get-rich-quick schemes, social programs, new philosophies all promising to give you a new look, a bigger bank account, more friends, and greater peace. You can run down lots of seemingly promising avenues, but ultimately, only one will satisfy. It is the road that brings you into greater relationship with Jesus, and you can find it in His Word and find help to understand it by fellowshipping with other believers and learning from strong, Word-based preachers.

It’s all about relationship with Jesus – knowing Him and knowing all He purchased and provided for you when He died for you. Yet, it’s not only that He died for you. It’s that He was resurrected to open up the windows of Heaven, to make opportunity for you – all the limitless opportunity that an infinite, all-powerful, all-knowing, all-loving God has in store for you! Because Jesus saw death and was totally renewed, refreshed, redeemed from all that death tried to accomplish in Him, we can now have that same renewing, refreshing, redemption by joining forces with Christ, by getting to know Him and all He has given us through His Word!
Why His Word? Why all this focus all of the time on getting to know the Word? Well, it’s like this. Can you share in the joys and blessing of someone else’s life if you don’t know them? Of course not! Can you receive from them all they have to offer or can you give to them all you have to give if you are not in relationship together? Think of it this way. Let’s say someone left you a million dollars in a bank account. You know the money is there, but you never go and draw any out. Will it do you any good when the bills come in? Absolutely not. You have to make a draw on the account. It’s the same way with the Word. You know the Bible is there for you. You may even read it, but just reading it is not enough. You have to let it become revelation in your spirit. You have to apply it to your life on a daily basis. You can’t just know what it says and not use it! You have to activate it in your life, apply its wisdom to your situation to see success in that area of your life. The Word is living and active (Hebrews 4:12). It’s full of power, peace, and provision for your life! It is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6)! It is the power of refreshing!

There is a supernatural abundance, an abundance available to you, laid up by God for you, but you have to tap into it, get to know what it says and offers to you. That’s the only way it can produce its power and promises in your life. So study God. Watch Jesus. Learn what He did and how he got results. Seek intimacy with the best example of success Who ever walked this earth! Become intimate with Him, and feel how much He loves you! Let Him give to you all the richness of what He so desperately wants you to have. Receive His power, peace, and provision! Receive the richness of life, the refreshing, and the renewing that He has for you every day. Dive into His Word as you would dive into the cool, reenergizing waters of an inviting lake in the middle of the blazing, summer heat, and receive new life!

Join us Sunday at River City Church and be lifted up by a body of believers who will love on you and encourage you, and sit under revelation from God’s Word that will bring you into the fullness of all God has for you. He’s dishing it up on a silver platter, but you have to receive it for it to bring you strength and renewal!

God has something special for each one of us,
Pastor Lisa Marie

If you have never made Jesus the Lord of your life and desire to, pray this: Dear God, I believe that Jesus is your Son, that He died on the cross for me and was resurrected for my redemption. I choose to make Jesus the Lord of my life. I thank you for forgiving me and for filling me with Your Holy Spirit. I thank You that I am Your child, that You are my Father, and that You have great things planned for me. Amen.
